North Carolina Schools Benefit from Discounted Pricing and Market-Leading Technology

CARY, N.C. (May 10, 2006) — SchoolDude.com, the nation’s leading provider of web-native operations management solutions for educational institutions, announced today that it has signed an agreement with the North Carolina School Boards Association (NCSBA) to provide affordable, web-native operations management solutions to the organization’s member schools.

The endorsement will enable all 115 local school administrative units to purchase SchoolDude’s web-native applications at affordable, discounted rates. SchoolDude’s products are designed specifically for schools and include solutions for work order processing, technology incident management, preventive maintenance, IT asset management, capital planning, facility usage scheduling, field trip management, utility tracking, and inventory management. Because SchoolDude’s application services are delivered over the Internet, the technology is affordable for both small and large school districts.

NCSBA, which serves schools throughout North Carolina, selected SchoolDude based on the company’s commitment to improving efficiency in education with affordable technology. “NCSBA strives to make quality services available to school board members in order to support their leadership of the state’s public schools,” said Molly Ryan, Staff Attorney for the North Carolina School Boards Association. “NCSBA recognized SchoolDude’s operations management solutions as a cost savings opportunity that local districts could take advantage of to make the most efficient use of limited school resources.”

SchoolDude’s suite of web-native solutions provides measurable benefits to school administrators, including improved productivity, reduced energy consumption, relief to facility capital budgets and extended facility and IT asset life. And by improving efficiency, SchoolDude’s technology helps school officials maintain a quality learning environment while maximizing limited resources.

“With the increased cost of energy and the impact on our budget, the only effective way to manage anything is to measure it,” said Bob Bittner, Director of Energy and Physical Plant for the Wake County Public School system. “SchoolDude’s UtilityDirect system is giving us an extremely easy and very affordable way to measure and track all of our utility data. We currently have over 1,800 meters in our system. SchoolDude manages the system — and all of the data loading — on a monthly basis at a cost that we cannot do with our own staff. This is our first year of loading our utility data and building our baseline. I believe having good, reliable information will allow us to save $500,000 next year on our utilities. I highly recommend SchoolDude’s UtilityDirect to every school system.”

More than 40 school districts in North Carolina are already utilizing SchoolDude’s web-native solutions, including Haywood County Schools, Buncombe County Schools, Davidson County Schools, Randolph County Schools, Wake County Schools, Chatham County Schools, Alamance County Schools, Vance County Schools, Brunswick County Schools, Onslow County Schools, Craven County Schools and Dare County Schools.
